75W RMS

Subs, Speakers and Electronics with an RMS Power Rating of 75-Watts

Subs, Speakers and Electronics with an RMS Power Rating of 75-Watts

The RMS rating of any speaker or subwoofer driver is the continuous power rating that the driver is designed to handle at a maximum volume rating. The RMS rating is one of two numbers to go by when pairing your speakers with an amplifier. As an example, a speaker with a 75-Watt, or 75W for short, RMS rating should be paired with a seventy-five-watt RMS amp. We usually recommend a power-plant to be over powered by 10 – 20% RMS so that the amplifier does not have to work at 100% capacity to get 100% efficiency from your speakers.

    Alpine S-S57 : 5x7" 75W RMS Coaxial Speakers

    Pre-Order Today!

Alpine 5X7-Inch Coaxial 2-Way Speakers, 75-Watt RMS The S-Series speakers have a large voice coil. The 6.5-inch and 6x9-inch models have a 35-mm voice coil, and this large voice coil size increases their driving power and control of the motor. The S-Series speakers are the first in the industry to use a material called CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic), a very lightweight yet rigid material. On a standard, off-the-shelf oval cone, the edges are naturally weaker than the center due to the elongated shape. Since the CFRP material is directional, it can be manipulated during the molding process to strengthen the areas of the cone that are normally weak. The result is rigidity throughout the cone that delivers accurate and efficient performance. The ability to manipulate the CFRP material during the molding process is currently exclusive to Alpine and the S-Series speakers. Alpine has three patent-pending procedures in support of this innovative manufacturing process. Alpine’s patented H.A.M.R. (High Amplitude Multi-Roll) surround is now found on the S-Series speakers. This proven technology increases excursion while maintaining accuracy and linearity. The multi-roll design allows for an even unfolding of the surround which creates incredible linearity and colorization rejection. The SPV-65X-WRA comes with adapters that allow the speakers to be installed as a component set by mounting the tweeters into the tombstones of older JKs or onto the dash for newer JKs. For older JKs that have a sound bar, the adapters convert the speakers into a coaxial design so they can be installed into the sound bar. Driving with the top off is part of the fun of owning a Wrangler, but sometimes you get caught off-guard with the top down and inclement weather. The SPV-65X-WRA is weather resistant and rated IP55, so it’s protected from limited dust ingress and low-pressure water spray from any direction.
