RMS power: This rating of any amplifier is the continuous power rating that an amp is designed to output at a maximum continued volume rating. The RMS power specification is one of two numbers to go by when pairing your speakers with an amplifier, not the only 2 but a good starting point. As an example, a speaker driver with a 150-Watt, or 150W for short, RMS rating should be paired with a one-hundred-fifty-watt RMS amplifier. We usually recommend an amp to be over powered by 10% RMS so that the power-plant does not have to work at 100% capacity to get 100-percent efficiency from your speakers. This will keep your amplifier from overheating during long periods of continuous operation.

Ohms: Is the resistance rating of an amp and is the second most important when pairing drivers with amplifiers. A power-plant that is 150W @ 2-ohm might only put out 75-Watts @ 4Ω. When purchasing an amplifier, the correct pairing of a speaker’s RMS wattage and Ohm ratings with an amp’s output power rating is absolutely essential.

The R-Series amplifiers utilize Alpine’s advanced amplifier platform that takes the classic Class-D amplifier circuit and adds dual post-filter feedback loops for unmatched accuracy and control. This technology., originally launched in the premium X-Series amplifiers,, produces efficient power with enhanced dynamic range, qualifying the R-Series amplifiers to be Hi-Resolution Audio compliant. This new technology minimizes audible imperfections like excessive phase shift and internal noise which can deteriorate sound quality. With an incredibly low phase shift of 46°, the R-A60F 4-channel amplifier delivers accurate imaging compared to well over 100° of phase shift by a competitive amplifier model. This superior phase curve ensures a proper sound stage among the singers and instruments. Specifications Alpine's Class D amplifier circuit 100W RMS x 4 (4Ω, 14.4V, ≤ 1% THD+N) 150W RMS x 4 (2Ω, 14.4V, ≤  1% THD+N) Bridged: 300W x 2 (4Ω, 14.4V, ≤ 1% THD+N) S/N >85dB (ref. 1W into 4Ω) • THD+N≤ 0.03% (ref. 1W into 4Ω) Frequency response =10Hz to 45kHz (+/- 3dB) Damping Factor >500 Alpine R-A60F Manual
