It gets even better when the larger driver delivers additional power handling and excursion. For the preceding reasons, the 13W3v3 can be the best choice for those seeking high output with great sound quality at medium power levels.
As with the smaller W3v3's, several exclusive JL Audio technologies and proprietary assembly techniques are applied to the 13W3v3 to enhance linearity and reliability.

Many people mistakenly believe that an oval speaker cannot perform as well as a round one, leading to many instances of 5.25-inch speakers being installed into 5 x 7-inch openings. JL Audio has put in the engineering time and effort to create fantastic-sounding speakers that drop into oval openings and deliver equivalent performance to our 6.5-inch (165 mm) round speaker systems... guaranteed. So, don't make the mistake of losing cone area and efficiency by stepping down to a smaller round speaker... these ovals are as impressive as our round format systems.

The 8W1v3 is an outstanding choice when space is very tight and amplifier power is moderate. It features shallow mounting depth (3.86 in. / 98 mm) and a compact motor structure, allowing it to comfortably fit in a lot of spaces where a typical 8-inch driver will not. Lacking a pole vent, the rear of the motor structure can be placed directly against an enclosure boundary. Excellent excursion capability and linearity allow it to reproduce sub-bass with shocking extension and quality. The 12" TW1 thin subwoofer driver by JL Audio has a shallow mounting depth while maintaining excellent excursion capability in a thin mounty chassis design to fit into an enclosure no bigger than (0.65 cu.ft. / 18.4 liters). This 12TW1 subwoofer is capable of operating in extremely tight spaces including under-seat installations in trucks and other automotive applications requiring a compact, low profile subwoofer design.
JL Audio's patented thin-line woofer technology utilizes a "concentric tube" structure built into the injection-molded cone body supporting the voice coil and spider. This patented design places the large motor structure further forward in the speaker than conventional thin subwoofer designs.
The JL Audio 12TW1 sub also features a chassis design that minimizes the top clearance required for the linear excursion limits of the subwoofer driver. This is accomplished by recessing the suspension attachment surface, so that most of the forward excursion occurs within the frame's dimensions. The 12TW1 requires only 0.87 inches (22 mm) of frontal clearance with or without the subwoofer grille installed.

The JL Audio 10" TW1 automotive thin subwoofer driver chassis offers a shallow mounting depth and excellent linear excursion capability while requiring a small enclosure (0.35 cu.ft. / 10 liters). The cast alloy frame design on the JL 10TW1 is capable of operating in very tight spaces like under-seat installations in trucks.
The 10TW1 design uses a "concentric tube" structure built into the injection-molded cone body. This structure supports the voice coil and a full annular spider, while permitting the placement of a large motor structure further forward in the speaker than with conventional designs.
The 10TW1 thin subwoofer also features a clever frame design that minimizes the frontal clearance required for the excursion of the driver. This is accomplished by recessing the suspension attachment surface, so that most of the forward excursion occurs within the frame's dimensions.
