The JL Audio 10" TW1 automotive thin subwoofer driver chassis offers a shallow mounting depth and excellent linear excursion capability while requiring a small enclosure (0.35 cu.ft. / 10 liters). The cast alloy frame design on the JL 10TW1 is capable of operating in very tight spaces like under-seat installations in trucks.
The 10TW1 design uses a "concentric tube" structure built into the injection-molded cone body. This structure supports the voice coil and a full annular spider, while permitting the placement of a large motor structure further forward in the speaker than with conventional designs.
The 10TW1 thin subwoofer also features a clever frame design that minimizes the frontal clearance required for the excursion of the driver. This is accomplished by recessing the suspension attachment surface, so that most of the forward excursion occurs within the frame's dimensions. Thanks to this feature, the 10TW1 requires only 0.87 inches (22 mm) of frontal clearance, even with its grille installed. This allows for more efficient use of space and increased enclosure volume within a given overall depth.
Although the JL Audio 10TW1-2 and 10TW1-4 thin subwoofer drivers are optimized for an enclosure much smaller than most other 10 inch subwoofer drivers, they never sound like a big woofer struggling in a tiny box...instead, the 10TW1's delivers all the rich, deep, controlled bass you have come to expect from a JL Audio subwoofer system.

The JL Audio 13.5" TW5v2 thin subwoofer driver uses a chassis with a “concentric tube” structure that supports the 7-inch diameter voice coil and the suspension attachments. This permits placement of the large motor structure much further forward in the subwoofer chassis than with conventional thin sub designs, while allowing excellent linear excursion capability and mechanical stability.
The 13TW5v2 improves upon the original 13-Inch TW5 driver with 13% greater linear excursion capability. The cast alloy chassis has also been modified for greater strength and the redesigned motor now features an annular vent. The v2 is available in single 2-ohm and single 4-ohm voice coil configurations.

W7-Series 8-Inch 500-Watt Subwoofer Driver, 3-Ohm SVC
This subwoofer driver has been called the "best damn 8-inch subwoofer ever made" for its remarkable performance capabilities and design attributes. An impressive linear excursion envelope that exceeds 0.75 in. (19 mm) one-way allows it to deliver impact well beyond the range of other 8-inch subwoofer drivers.
The 8W7AE is best used with amplifier power in the 200W - 500W range and is optimized to operate in a 0.875 cu. ft. (24.8 l) sealed enclosure, or a 1.0 cu. ft. ported enclosure. Detailed enclosure recommendations can be found in the "Specifications" tab.
W7AE (Anniversary Edition) Subwoofers celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the launch of the W7 subwoofers. Functionally, they are identical to the original W7's, but are they distinguished by the following cosmetic differences:

Housing a proprietary Class D amplifier, this incredible subwoofer system utilizes JL Audio's exclusive DCD™ amplifier technology to extract maximum output from its specially engineered, ultra low-impedance W3v3 driver. By combining direct power conversion with an ultra-high current output section, DCD™ amplifiers are free of conventional switching power supplies, enabling them to generate remarkable power with unprecedented efficiency.
Key to the enclosure’s performance is its efficient slot-ported design and precise tuning of its 8Wv3 subwoofer driver. Extensive interior bracing permits the use of thinner wall material that maximizes the enclosure's internal volume relative to its exterior volume. The port wraps around two walls of the enclosure to produce the necessary low tuning frequency that ensures excellent extension and response smoothness. The flared port entry and exit further enhance sound quality by minimizing air-flow noises through the port.
Integration to OEM and aftermarket head units is a snap thanks to a variety of input options and automatic turn-on capability (via signal sensing or DC offset sensing). Also included is a variable frequency low-pass filter (50-200 Hz), along with output polarity control switch. Adding an optional RBC-1 remote level control (sold separately) lets you control subwoofer levels directly from the driver’s seat. A quick-disconnect power connector makes it easy to remove the subwoofer when you need the extra space. To facilitate fit, breakaway mounting tabs on the woofer frame allow the C1-400x to be installed in four-hole or two-hole mounting configurations.
C1 woofer drivers benefit from proprietary FEA modeling and JL Audio's expertise in low-frequency driver design. This knowledge is used to create speakers that can play loudly, while maintaining a smooth, dynamic, low distortion sound. At the core of the C1-400x is a proprietary, stamped, steel 4-inch (100 mm) frame and a DMA-optimized motor system. A mineral-filled, injection-molded polypropylene cone is suspended with a rubber surround on the front, and a carefully engineered spider at the top of the voice coil, to precisely control motion and prevent impact between the voice coil and the back plate.
